Examples of successful applications in automobile production

By utilising linear motor technology, Strothmann gmBH has set new standards in terms of performance and speed. The energy supply with the E6 is perfectly matched to the high speed and acceleration values

In a rolling machine for aluminium profiles for the production of truck mudguards, steel bearings were previously used for the lifting system of the pressure roller. As these always had to be lubricated and worked imprecisely, they were replaced by completely lubrication-free drylin® W linear rails and iglidur ® Z bearings.

Jaguar Cars Limited needed to find a new cable routing for the automated industrial robots in a car factory. The previous solution with hoses caused a lot of downtime as the hoses fell into the robot's working area. The newly installed triflex® RS universal module, on the other hand, retracts the cables with every movement.

In a retrofit process, all axes of a 6-axis robot were equipped with multidimensionally movable energy chains. In addition to the 3D chains from the triflex® R family on the robot arm, the rotary axis is also equipped with a guidance cable and hose twisterchain® energy chain. Since then, there has been no more downtime.

Rough operating conditions and high acceleration forces led to expensive downtimes for the handling robots in MA Automotive's machine park. The customer saved the high maintenance costs after converting to flat triflex® RS energy chain systems.

The triflex® R energy supply systems are ideal for robot applications in the automotive industry, as they offer a high degree of flexibility and a high level of cable protection at the same time. A twist of up to approx. +/- 380° per metre in the longitudinal axis is possible and limited by a clear stop-dog.

Since its installation over two years ago, the multidimensional energy supply system triflex® R has ensured error-free painting and therefore round-the-clock availability of the painting robot. The simple connection significantly reduces changeover times.

At ARIS Stellantriebe GmbH, various iglidur ® plain bearings and a dryspin® steep thread spindleare now used in the actuator. The iglidur® material can optimise the function at various points in the drive and reduce costs.

The automotive industry relies on lightweight and low-noise plastic-energy chains from igus®. These can also be equipped with products from the isense smartplastics family. This allows the condition of the energy chain systems to be monitored digitally.

In this industrial washing machine for removing dirt from engine components before installation, conventional linear ball bearings failed. Due to the highly corrosive environment and the use of aggressive cleaning agents, our iglidur ® polymer bearings are now used. They enable the required reliability and freedom from maintenance in the system.

Low Cost Robotics is also ideal for automotive production. Volkswagen uses a robolink® robot arm from igus®. The robot arm takes over the bonding of acoustic measures in the area of the rear battery console. Find out how you can automate your processes from €6,999.

For over 10 years, Husch Handhabungstechnik gmbH has relied on our plastic-energy chain as well as linear and rotary bearing products for its handling systems. They enable long service lives, robustness and freedom from maintenance.

The professional energy chain P4.32 rollers run quietly, smoothly and can withstand continuous high speeds. This makes them perfect for use in the loading portals of GROB-Werke GmbH

In its assembly line, a car manufacturer relies on our iglidur ® rotary table bearings for a total of 60 assembly carriers , as they are very light and still function permanently maintenance and lubrication-free under high and constant loads.
