At the beginning of the 1990s, we were one of the first companies in the industry to make CAD files available to its customers on floppy disks. We have maintained this pioneering spirit right up to today and have continually developed our digital side. Here, an agile way of working is always closely connected with our development processes. Today, we provide our customers not only with an extensive and free online CAD database but also with numerous online tools, intelligent products for easy maintenance and a platform for low-cost robotics components.
A product is only a product for us if it can be configured. For this reason, we work continuously on our online tools in order to make motion plastics products tangible for our customers. The robolink Designer for articulated robots is the best example of how we imagine the future: easy-to-use tools with which the configuration and simulation of cost-effective products are possible online. They enable individual configuration of our products, supply reliable data for service life calculation and help customers to look for the right solution.

With the help of intelligentenergy chains, cables, plain bearings, slewing rings and linear guides, we are setting new standards in maintenance and repair. The smart plastics products detect the need for maintenance, make intelligent prognoses and avoid worst-case scenarios where equipment fails or production comes to a standstill.
It is easy to explain the principle of smart plastics: sensors of many different kinds detect the condition of the iguscomponents and communicate their condition to a data concentrator which then passes this data on to an intelligent system. In this way, the push and pull forces acting on e-chains, for example, can be monitored during ongoing operation and maintenance work can be performed on them before a malfunction occurs.
