They are as much a part of Sweden as Abba and the Midsummer Festival. Generations of Swedes can tell their own (travelling) story about the iconic mini transporters. What is it about? The Flakmoped, also known as the Packmoped, of course. A loading area at the front for various goods (or animals, or even people in an emergency), with an axle with two wheels underneath. Powered by a moped with a rattling combustion engine.
The Flakmoped was introduced towards the end of the 1950s and achieved absolute cult status thanks to its design, ease of repair and wide range of applications. But times are changing - combustion engines are increasingly being replaced by electric drives. This is exactly where Packoped comes in and electrifies the Swedish icon! Essential parts of the steering of the new Swedish cargo bike come from igus, including the handlebars made of plastic!
